have you ever had so many things to take care of that you just forget about them all? i had put our bill sorter on the new computer table (schwing!) and was perusing it when I found some bills that are due today. it's not the apocolypse by any means - i have paid bills late before - but it was like i didn't even know those pieces of paper existed!
confusion and anxiety rule today. we took punkin to "meet the teacher" this morning at her new school. the teacher seemed very nice and the classroom was colorful and interesting. punkin had been "playing sick" all morning, so my nerves were rattled already. she kept asking the same questions over and over and i ended up half-yelling at her, which i really try not to do. i dropped her off and went to get my car inspected. the air conditioner in the place was broken, so we were all sitting there sweating and trying to be cheerful. then i came home to do my volunteer church activity, which took a lot longer than usual. that's when i saw the bills. then internet banking was down and i had to actually write checks (which takes forever).
the new computer is all set up on a pretty new desk, waiting for me to put software on it and start transferring files. there are boxes all over the place and a stack of papers about 5" high that need to be filed. i have noticed that when my environment seems out of control, so do i. i have about 30 minutes before i need to go to work, so maybe i can put a dent in some of it. oh - and did i mention the 2 birthdays and baby shower (of which i am one of the hostesses) that i have completely neglected? i'm glad i have understanding friends.
