it's my party...

today is my birthday. i will be 34 years old at 3:33pm. 34 doesn't seem like a bad age. Lord knows i don't want to be 25 again.

i'm usually not excited about my birthday, as is the case today. the nice thing is the perks - presents, the captain doing things for me, punkin actually trying to behave. but once midnight hits, it's all over. it's kind of sad. in an ideal world, we would be doing things selflessly for our loved ones all the time.

i don't think i'll be getting a cake this year, but if i did, my wish would be that i could focus on what's really important every day - friends, family, relationships - and not get caught up in all the other garbage of life.
