navigating the system

i woke up this morning with a sinus headache. i haven't had one in quite a long time, so i didn't quite "snap" as to why i was feeling so gross. now, i am sitting here with my tens unit on, trying to relax. i still have one heck of a knot near my right shoulder blade that doesn't hurt until i get one of these headaches.

i am getting quite annoyed with punkin's bus driver. she almost missed the bus this morning because it came 10 minutes early! pretty soon, we'll be getting up at 4:30am to ensure that she makes it! [ok, that was a huge exaggeration. i would not get up at 4:30am unless i absolutely had no other choice.] so now i am pondering whether $43/month is worth paying for her just to ride the bus home. we could sleep later and not feel so rushed if the captain or i took her to school in the mornings. the day she missed the bus, it didn't take long at all to move through the "drop off" line.

another thing i wasn't ready for is the sheer number of functions that we are expected to attend! the back-to-school stuff was very useful since it is punkin's first year in the school. tonight, they're having some kind of "meet the teacher" thing, but it looks like the main purpose is going to be suckering parents into volunteering or donating money toward the fall carnival. we may have to skip it since it doesn't start until 7pm. we have had to move punkin's bedtime up to 7:45 so that she can get a decent amount of sleep.
