non-manic monday

i ponder the reason for getting mlk day off, but not president's day. i suppose it would be too much to ask for a holiday 2 months in a row. or perhaps i just got used to having holidays in december and january. i digress...the fact of the matter is that i am sitting in the "adjunct hideout" at school, freezing my arse off, wishing it was 1:30.

it's just been one of those days when i woke up and just wanted to not be awake. i feel unenthused about my work today, which i hope doesn't show. my first class went fairly well. we played "the shaping game" in which the lucky volunteer gets to wander around the room and be reinforced with chocolate when he/she performs the behavior that the class has come up with beforehand. remember playing "hot/cold"? it's the same basic principle. you didn't even know you were being shaped, did you?

i guess it's time to go heat up my 2-day old pizza, take a stroll in the gorgeous weather outside (it's sunny and 75 right now, but don't be fooled. it will snow tomorrow), and then hope that class #2 goes as well as class #1 did. oh, and don't let me forget to order a cake for punkin's birthday party this weekend. we wouldn't want to disappoint, would we?
