Yay for Exhaustion!

How many times have you either a) admired someone for their consistent lack of sleep; or b) bragged about your own sleep deficit? When did losing sleep become a good thing?

Our culture is so messed up! Productivity, busyness and stress seem to be admired in the U.S. Excuse me, but WTF???

I have been taking it easy as of late because I don't want to experience depression again. Yet I feel like I am doing something wrong - and I also feel sporadically guilty. Intellectually, I know that these feelings are society programmed, but I feel them just the same.

I am going to devote 2008 to slowing down. To being in the moment. To saying "no" to things I really don't want to do. To prioritize my life: family first.

What do you think? Are you with me?

I agree, but would be much less prone to dozing off if Australia were not 17 hours ahead of us.

I am WITH YOU! I've been trying to do the same thing! Lack of sleep is just no good. I'm pro-nap, myself. Gotta slow down a little - life goes by too fast as it is.
