Boo!

Another Halloween has come and gone. We're offically into the "holiday season." I can deny it no longer.

This was our first Halloween in this house. I was shocked at how few trick-or-treaters we had. We saw maybe 25 kids. We had at least 1/3 of our candy left over! At our old house, we usually ran out of treats before the night was over. Maybe it's because we're in a mini-cul-de-sac - the house is set back a bit from the road. The guys took the daughters around the neighborhood and said that there were plenty of kids out, so I'm not sure why we didn't have more visitors.

Punkin and her best friend dressed the same - as dead girls in purple-and-black dresses. And Mom (aka me) totally forgot to take a picture! It was such a whirlwind event...I am not a big fan of "holidays" being in the middle of the week.

I actually had one of my college students ask if school was out for Halloween.

In a year or two, they'll all be dressing like Olive Snook.

We didn't have as many trick-or-treaters as I expected, either. My kids got a lot of candy, tho! And I'm home alone with it all day. Muahahahahaha!

Did you have any noticeable (I.e. light up) Halloween decorations up?

If we have strings of Halloween lights and jack o'lanterns in the window - we'll get about 60-80 kids. If we don't, we get about 10.

I suspect in my area it is because every house already has their outside light come on automatically, so there is no way to tell from the street if the house is supporting Halloween. Most families seem to drive the kids and only stop when a house is obviously giving out candy...
