Happy Mother's Day

Today is Mother's Day, in case you have been in a cave. My Punkin made some lovely things for me - things I will be sure to hang on to. My mom says she regrets not saving the things I made for her over the years. I don't want to be in that position.

I had a nice weekend. My MIL and I went on a short overnight trip and had fun shopping, eating and watching chick flicks. My dad was nice enough to let us use his house while he was out of town, so we didn't even have to pay for a hotel! But...I am back home and back to reality. It's nice to get a change of scenery now and again.

I just read that the cost of stamps is going up as of tomorrow - from 39 to 41 cents. Is it me, or did we just have a stamp hike from 37 to 39 cents? I know we have one of the cheapest rates in the world, but for those of us in a news cave, having a surplus of 39 cent stamps is most unhelpful.

I just found out about the stamps, too. I heard it was going up....sometime....

I just bought a whole book of 39-cent stamps last week. I have used one of them. Now I have to buy 19 2-cent stamps! Grrr!

Happy Mother's Day!

Hang on to 'em. Before too long postage will be $0.78.

Actually, being a dork (and possibly because I work from home), I knew about this. I asked at the post office (since it was really only about a year or so ago that it changed last time). Let's just say that it's one more thing to blame on the price of gasoline. But now they're offering the "forever stamp" or whatever it's called. I say we stock up on those and look at at as an investment. You can buy them at 41 cents (now anyway) and they will always be whatever the 1st class postage is even when it goes up again.

I think the Forever Stamp is a wonderful idea! It needs some type of commercial with romantic music and flowers and maybe a bride in a billowing white dress to promote it....

I bought some Forever Stamps in Dec 06 and wish I had bought a LOT more of them.

Also, "in case you have been in a cave" made me laugh.
