it is time once again for me to enlighten my readers about my attitude about "valentine's day." first of all, i think it's a sweet idea, really. especially if you're a kid, in high school, the owner of a greeting card company, florist, candy company or restaurant. but there's just something unspecial about getting a card, flowers, candy, dinner out, or anything else on a day on which every other person on the planet is getting something "special," too. even single people who aren't dating anyone probably received an email valentine from a friend or colleague. honestly, if it weren't for punkin and her enthusiasm for the day, it would have passed me up, unnoticed.

this is the one time the captain gets in trouble for getting me something on a "holiday." i tell him to save his money for sweetheart day. that's sometime in the summer, right? ;)

by the way, thanks for the well wishes. my tummy and i are much better today!
