first of all, i have to thank beth publicly for turning me on to happynews.com. it is now my home page! i might not hear about the macabre things going on, but by gosh i will hear about the heroes (and hero support)!
and now for the rest of the story...i think my blogroll encompasses a plethora of different writing styles and personalities. i have the blog of a publicist in new york who mingles with glenn close and her jailed deaf dad (the publicist's, not ms. close's) and who i happened to have attended junior high with. then there's a gal i've become pretty close to (no pun intended) who writes about what's going on in her life - nothing more, nothing less. i read the blog of a person i originally met on the net, but has since become an in-person friend as well (though he's a silicon valley geek now). i've become addicted to the writing style and web cam of a young man who's actually very local to me - he just keeps turning my lunch, dinner and party invitations down. but i don't take it personally. and then there's karla. if i ever need a laugh, i go read karla's blog. she's so funny that she's up for some kind of award for being so freaking hilarious.
so i was thinking while sitting on the throne the other day (i get my best ideas here) how i tailor my comments to the blog i am reading. if i am leaving my thoughts on t-bone's blog, i'll probably keep it toned down, no real cussing, but funny is okay. i know that t is a good Christian man (something i will never be...really! think about it). however, if i am commenting on karla's blog, i let it all hang out. i don't censor and i try to make my comment as amusing as possible. not that i could compete with karla's wit, but there's just something about the author's writing style that makes me want to change mine when leaving comments. am i just a freak or does anyone else do that, too?

I rarely comment and, when I do, I always censor them to be very clean. My reason: Many comments are Google-able and I don't use a pseudonym. Takes the fun out, I suppose, but I don't have time for blog comment wars and that kind of crapola.
I love your description of my blog.
Regarding tailoring comments - -I totally do this. I comment here pretty much the same way I blog. I feel like I'm just talking to you. Some places I try to display a little decorum because I don't want someone to think I'm a freak.cause I kind of am.
