as my five readers know, i am a complete sci-fi/special effects junkie. i am the kind of person that will go to a movie with no plot just to wig out on the special effects (i.e. the day after tomorrow, independence day, armageddon). the latest treat besides narnia (which i've seen twice now) is king kong. i really want to see this movie. the reviews are awesome and what could be better than a cgi giant ape?the problem? this movie is 3 hours long, not including trailers. it's also pg-13, which means it's unsuitable for punkin. i just know that it's one of those movies that really needs to be seen on the big screen. i have a free day on thursday and thought i might take a gander. but the earliest time is 1:00. punkin gets off the bus at 3:00. you do the math. what's up with peter jackson making these obscenely long movies?? i thought lord of the rings would never end! maybe he's making up for something...

There's gotta be a teenager nearby you can use for such things, no? Find one! Punkin will love the break too.
Our babysitter is in the middle of a move. I did shoot her an email to see if we could catch the Sat. matinee. We'll see...
