why does creativity have to occur so early?

i think i am becoming a morning person. darn the bad luck! i wake up most mornings around 5 or 5:30, without the alarm clock, feeling fully awake. lying in bed doesn't do anything but help me conjure up 50 things i could be doing at that moment, even if it's just sitting in the living room, enjoying the solitude.

this morning, i woke up around 4 to pee and couldn't go back to sleep. i was feeling creative, so i got up and started writing some more on my short story/novel/i have no idea what it will be. so far, it's 22 pages, double-spaced, with plenty more storyline to go. my mother-in-law (my unofficial editor) suggested that i write a little on it every day, but some days i just don't have any good ideas. i've been trying to seize these creative moments, even if they are at 4am.

let's see...what else? oh yeah - the neurologist mentioned that one of the side effects to the topamax would be loss of taste, especially with carbonated drinks. i kid you not - on day 2 of taking the stuff, my beloved diet c0ke started tasting flat, like i had left it open for a couple of days before drinking it. does that stop me? nah.

how are your mentalkkahmas plans coming along?

i have been on topomax for a while and when i first went on it made diet coke taste flat for me too. i'm not sure if i got used to the taste or if it wore off...
and regarding your waking up early feeling fully rested. i'm not sure i've ever woken up feeling fully rested! ;)
