the smell of death

something has crawled into our attic and died. the smell is...unpleasant to say the least. we had this happen last year, but the captain was able to locate what turned out to be a rat and get rid of it. it had died right above the master bedroom closet. this time, it seems our little deceased friend is very close to the back door, and the attic space is too tight for an adult to get up there. my mulberry candle is getting quite a workout, but mulberry death doesn't smell much better than just plain ol' death.
