i feel so discombobulated! what day is it anyway? last i heard, the schools are re-opening tomorrow and i can almost feel the anticipation from the neighborhood parents. i was in the convenience store today, and a woman walked in with 3 rowdy kids. she looked at me tiredly and i said, "school tomorrow!" she immediately brightened up, if only for a minute or two. yes, we love our children...but they also drive us crazy!
the only friends that still aren't home yet are my next-door neighbors. she called me this morning saying they were going to make the trek in from new braunfels today, but i don't see their vehicle yet. our couple-friends that have a son punkin's age got home yesterday. the kids have been playing together most of the day, and punkin is over there as i type. we also went and saw the march of the penguins, which i really enjoyed. the kids were a little disappointed - perhaps they expected animation or 3-d or something. i suppose the art of the documentary is lost on them.
well, i better go pick punkin up. i tried to get her to do her homework yesterday, but she insisted on putting it off. the kid needs a lesson in delayed gratification.
