rite of passage...and cheedle

oh, man...i just got cheedle all over my mouse. not good.

the first morning of school was pretty uneventful...for me. the captain was designated for morning drop-off duty by punkin. so really, all i had to do was pack her lunch and help her get ready. he said they got there a little early, which turned out to be a good thing, as the place was swamped when he left. he got to hang out with punkin in her room for a few minutes before class started. he was so cute this morning - he was more nervous than she was! he even went and had lunch with her in the cafeteria. what a great dad! i also think it helped him feel better about the whole deal.

i am the picker-upper today, so i will be leaving shortly to get a jump on the hoardes of parents converging on the school all at once. i was really surprised how calm i was/am about the whole thing today. i really didn't worry about punkin much at all. she's growing up, and i want to be able to step aside and let her. today also completes her first week of doing chores for an allowance! i can't wait to see what she does with the money. $5 can't buy a whole lot, and she has listed several things that she wants to buy - toys, dvds, etc. i think it will be a nice lesson in the value of a dollar for her.

i went to the gym this morning! woo hoo! my goal when i signed back up was 1 time per week. i've already been twice this week. i wish i could say i just loved it and was feeling really energetic, but that would be a lie. now leave me alone so i can eat my cheet0s in peace.
