zut alors!

i try not to swear on my blog.

but yesterday...took...the...cake. it was honestly the most frustrating day i have had in ages. we had to move my mother to another city, about 1.5 hours from here. the movers showed up around 1:15pm, finished packing their truck up in about an hour and i gave them directions to the new casa while they went to pick up their boss.

my mom doesn't drive on the freeway, so i had to drive her car and the captain planned on coming up a little later to pick us up (punkin came with us). first, we get a call from the movers that they're having to transfer mom's stuff onto another truck because the brakes were going bad on the original one. then, they call back when we're almost there to say that they are going to have to do major repair work on their truck and would it be okay if they came the next morning?

now, mind you, it's pouring rain the whole time and traffic is moving like molasses. also, the movers have just about everything my mother owns, including the bed and pillows. at first she said she would just sleep on the floor of her empty condo, but i wouldn't have it. we got her a room at a local motel for the night and she went to go look at the condo. she came back to the motel a few minutes later and said that her key wouldn't work! thank God i had an extra.

by then, it was 5pm (rush hour) but i was feeling so bad that i insisted that we hit the road. i have been having weather-related migraines...and i think that stress makes it so much worse! we got home around 7pm and i took a shower, loaded up on as much cold medicine as i could find and went to bed. i have no way to contact my mom to see what happened, and frankly i don't have the mental energy to deal with it either.

i know it could have been worse, but days like that just blindside me.

on a totally unrelated note, pray for a safe shuttle launch today!
