Perplexed

I was reading my yah00 email this morning and came upon a group post from a person who is running for our local school board. she was encouraging folks to vote in the board elections next month. At the end of her post she wrote, "If voting was homework, your kids would have to do it."

What am I missing here? That statement seemed so arbitrary to me. So for laughs, I thought of alternatives (I am easily amused):

If voting were eggs, I would eat them for breakfast.
If voting were socks, I'd put them on my feet.
If voting was cat hair, I would vacuum it up.

So what did I miss? Does anyone have great insight on that statement?

If voting was sex, I would take two ballots.

Anna Kournikova would be elected president, Maria Sharapova as vice.

That is an odd statement. Maybe you shouldn't vote for her. She seems weird.

I say send Punkin to vote. At least she didn't say, "If voting were a big school project, your kids would procrastinate until you ended up doing it yourself." I don't know. Does seem weird.

Here's a good quote for you that I found on another blog:

"If voting changed anything, they'd make it illegal."
Emma Goldman

Hmmmm....

If voting was bumper-to-bumper traffic, I'd avoid it at all costs. Unless I was headed to the polls, then I'd find some homework to do.

Too bad I missed this one. I can't think of anything witty.
