5...4...3...2...

  1. well, tonight's the night. the last night of 2005. some are glad to see it go...some had a pretty good year...some are just happy to still be breathing. of course, we are all now privy to the "top" whatever lists of 2005. i stumbled across yahoo's top searches in several different categories. how shallow the world has become! take exhibit "a": the top news searches of 2005:

1. tsunami 2. iraq 3. michael jackson trial 4. natalee holloway 5. afghanistan 6. brad pitt and angelina jolie 7. hurricane katrina 8. cindy sheehan 9. president bush 10. tom cruise

since when does pitt & jolie and tom cruise rate as news? and then you have the top 10 overall searches of 2005:

1. britney spears 2. 50 cent 3. cartoon network 4. mariah carey 5. green day 6. jessica simpson 7. paris hilton 8. eminem 9. ciara 10. lindsay lohan

perhaps they don't include searches by people over age 25. either that or i am just old. i don't even know who ciara is, save being the little girl down the street that plays with punkin sometimes.

oh well. i would make a resolution to become more familiar with current pop culture, but it just doesn't sound that interesting. happy new year to everyone! be safe and don't cheat when you play poker with your friends tonight!

Heck i am 28 years old and I gave up trying to figure out pop culture a long time ago.

Pop culture usually revoles around things i cant stand, rap music and selfish women.

I like your blog. I am one of the depressed for the holidays type and its been tough this year. Have a happy New years.

I've never been able to understand or get into pop culture. Naturally, I married somebody who can't live without his TV and remote in hand so I have been somewhat "educated" over the past 5 years.
