laundry notes

i've noticed a couple of trends lately in the process by which i do the laundry. first of all, if i start the laundry in the late afternoon, chances are high that the dryer will finish at the exact same moment that i am sitting down to eat dinner. not wanting to reveal our poor hygienic habits to the world, i postpone my meal to lay out the clothes that could get wrinkled if they sat too long in the dryer. secondly, i almost always put a pair or two of my underwear in punkin's pile. is it wrong for me to be wearing the same color underwear as my 6 year old daughter? anyway, i obviously discover my error as i am putting away said undergarments and realize that she could camp out in mine.

i got a pretty funny email about hurricane rita that i just had to share:

Attached is a photo illustrating the damage caused to my friend's home in Houston from the hurricane Rita that passed through on Friday night.

It really makes you cherish what you have, and reminds us not to take things too much for granted.

Please be sure and heed the media's warnings and obey evacuation
instructions. The media always knows better than you.

Pay close attention to weather forecasters. They are paid a lot of
money to keep you informed.

[yes, that's just a patio chair that fell over. the point is that (thankfully) the storm itself was not a big deal. it was the media that was the driving force behind this weather phenomenon!]
